  1. Pablo Michelle Alex and I are reading Hamlet Act II in class and we are confused as to what Polonius is asking Reynaldo to do. If anyone could provide some insight it would be much appreciated.

  2. He is asking Reynaldo to spy on his son (laertes).

  3. Well I was wondering why. In the beginning courtroom scene he seems very eager for his son to leave asking him to get the king's blessing and all. He says something to the effect of I know my son isn't normally a bad person but imagine what horrible things he could be doing. It's like he thinks his son has gone crazy and he wants Reynaldo to bring him home before he stains his reputation.

    1. Polonius is suggesting that Reynaldo find people who know Laertes and say just enough to bait them into disclosing whatever Laertes may be doing out of his father's view...
