  1. I haven't read the article yet but in my opinion, I prefer turning in essays online. It is faster and I don't have to pay for stamps. In Los Alamos, it does take longer to receiver mail and for the mail to get to other people outside of Los Alamos. This is a hassle when my Felipe peers have receiver their AP scores and are posting about the great news while I still have to wait a week. When awaiting college notifications, I want to know when they are available and they are available online within a few clicks, while it would take multiple days in the mail. Now don't get me wrong, I love getting the notification in the mail so I can place the admission paper in a frame but I prefer to get the notification right away instead of biting my nails longer than I have to.

  2. Whether we like it or not, sooner or later everything will become digital and via technology. I am an extremely impatient person, so getting a notification that my work has been sent works out very well for me. Not to mention, you can see with your own eyes that your work has been sent where you intended it to. Yes, things go wrong with technology, but things go wrong with snail mail as well. I am open to the idea of digital and am willing to learn and keep up with technology. The whole waiting weeks and weeks to reveive a paper from a school that may change your life is ridiculous to me. The same goes for scholarships, I would rather not toss and turn wondering if I got a schoalrship when the mail (weeks later) tells me that I didn't. If I could find out with the click of a button, I would get hours of sleep back to say the least.

  3. What an amazing way for a student to convey his ideas while at the same time showing structure and well planned out organization.

A one minute video is able to express multiple thoughts in an entertaining effective manner. The video creator is able to use music, pictures, body language, and others means to explain his ideas. A written essay cannot give the same experience as a video can.
Because these videos are only one minute long colleges can evaluate a student quickly but effectively. This saves time and is more enjoyable for the people evaluating.

Not only is the student able to convey his ideas effectively he is also able to show his professionalism. Being able to sum down dozens of ideas into a one minute is not easy and the student must priority his best ideas over others. Then being able to organize these ideas into a structure that flows well also requires time and skill.

I look forward to a future where school is not just a train set on rails where students are thrown on top while they dangle, doing there best to hold on. I want to make my own rails and learn how to make my rails stronger and faster with the help of others.
